Lúnasa ushers in the harvest season. Whether you’re farming, growing, or not, this is a time to appreciate how the Earth supports us with crops, water, and all that is needed for life. This year I marked Lúnasa by finishing a painting.

My process of working in layers is slow. It can be even slower when other things in life need to take priority. Artworks may have to be put aside for weeks, or even months. Delays and interruptions make the completion of a painting all the sweeter.
Work on this picture, which I’m calling Reach, began after Spring Equinox, 2025. It is a combination of acrylic paint, watercolour, pencil, pen, and gold paper.

Writing in the rain
Rain arrived yesterday to soak the island. The rain was very welcome after our recent heatwave: the land was parched! I’m working on a few writing projects simultaneously this month.
